UNMH Movement Disorder and Senior Health Clinics
Overview
This project was for a new building of approximately 32,000 square feet that houses two clinics – a Movement Disorder Clinic and a Senior Health Clinic – that are connected by a corridor. Each clinic has various exam rooms, blood draw and imaging labs, education programs, procedure rooms, consult spaces, therapy areas, office, and support spaces.
design scope
Each clinic had its own unique mechanical, electrical, and plumbing system. The mechanical system was a Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) system with energy recovery units providing outside air ventilation along with relief and exhaust air requirements. Along with the high efficiency HVAC VRF system, unique self-balancing duct design to maintain room pressure requirements. Low water consumption plumbing was utilized to assist in meeting LEED requirements. Electrical design included power, lighting with energy saving controls, and communications throughout the new building while providing infrastructure for future solar panels to serve the building.
