APS Navajo Elementary School

Overview

The project consisted of a new 2-story classroom addition of approximately 29,500 square feet to an existing elementary school site as a separate building.

design scope

The mechanical system was a Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) system with an energy recovery unit providing outside air ventilation along with relief and exhaust air requirements. Along with the high efficiency HVAC VRF system, low water consumption plumbing was utilized to assist in meeting LEED requirements. Electrical design included power, lighting, and communications throughout the new building while providing infrastructure for future solar panels to serve the building.
