APS Westside Bus Depot
Overview
This project is a 200-bus maintenance building and separate operations facility. The facilities included an operations office, drive-thru bays, a bus washing building, and a vehicle fueling area. The total building square footage is approximately 28,000 square feet.
design scope
Maintenance bay mechanical systems included radiant heating floor and evaporative cooling. The main bus offices were heated and cooled with DX cooling and gas heating. Other mechanical systems included exhaust vehicle and welding exhaust systems. The fueling system was a 10,000 gallon diesel tank and a split 10,000 gallon unleaded. A remote 1,000 gallon DEF tank was provided at the fuel island. Lubrication tanks, 250 gallon each, were piped to 6 hose reel locations including compressed air, 10W40, 5W20 motor oil, automatic transmission fluid, window washer fluid, and electrical power for use at each location. The compressed air system included a 180 CFM screw type compressor, storage tank, and refrigerated dryer. A drive-thru new bus washing system was included in the project.
